Join us as we celebrate and give thanks for 150 years of St Mary's Church.

We have a series of events planned throughout the coming months and we would love you to come along to some, or all, of these and celebrate with us. This page will continue to be updated with additional details so please keep checking back for more about each upcoming event.

Picnic in the Park

Sunday 23 June

St Mary's will be getting involved in the annual Friends of Ashton Park community event, Picnic in the Park, by joining with other local churches to create an interactive space for families to explore faith. We will also be celebrating 150 years of St Mary's by making 150 pots from newspaper and encouraging people to plant herbs. This is sure to be a fun event for everyone so pack your picnic blanket, some good food and head on over to Ashton Park on Grosvenor Road.

All Nations Service Takeover

Sunday 7 July, 9:30am & 11:15am

It was a prayer of one of St Mary's vicars, Revd. Graeme Skinner, that St Mary's would become a multicultural church. Today we have over 35 nationalities represented within our congregation and a new worshipping community emerging, known as All Nations. Join us at one of our morning services when our All Nations community will be taking over. We will experience some of the ways other cultures do church as All Nations bring a message and lead us in worship and prayer.

Swing & Swing Again Concert

Sunday 21 July

'Swing & Swing Again' is a big band based in Sale. Several church members perform, or have performed, with the band and we are thrilled that they will be performing a concert for St mary's 150th Anniversary. Look forward to a variety of music and songs from well known artists such as Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder, George Ezra, U2, and Paul Simon, as well as some of the traditional big band numbers by Glenn Miller, Louis Armstrong etc. Tickets will go on sale soon!

Celebration Services

Sunday 8 September, 9:30am & 11:15am

Bishop Sam will be joining with us as we round off our anniversary celebrations in our morning services. Come along and join us as we give thanks for all that God has done through St Mary's over the years and look ahead to all we expect and anticipate He will do in the years to come.
