Sale West Church Engagement Assistant

Sale West Community Urban Trust has a vision to work with local people and partners in the Sale West community to enable families and children to reach their full potential. Sale West Community Urban Trust are seeking to appoint a Church Engagement Assistant to support the Community Engagement Officer in building the work with children and to welcome and engage new people with a particular focus on the event timetable for the year.

The role includes being a friendly and welcoming face for new comers at Sale West Community Church, and providing support in the planning and running the church's children's provision, 'Sunday Funday', including the training and management of its volunteers. The successful candidate will also be required to provide operational support including event management, streamlining information systems, asset creation for communications and report writing for funders and Trustee meetings.

Salary:
£12.60 per hour
(£6,552 annual salary)

Hours of work:
10 hours per week

The post holder will be required to attend weekly staff devotions on a Tuesday morning from 9:15am-10am and should be available weekly between 10-11am for a staff meeting/one-to-one.

Contract:
This is a fixed term contract from January - August 2026

This post carries an occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a satisfactory DBS check to enhanced level with a check of the barred lists. Applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them
