SESSION 9 MARK 9:14-32
WELCOME & WORSHIP
When have you been on a spiritual ‘mountaintop?’ Share and then praise
God for each other’s experiences.
WORD
1. With whom do you most readily identify?
· Peter because I always seem to say the wrong thing at the wrong time
· Peter, James, and John, came down from the mountain - I’ve recently
come down from a spiritual high.
· The other disciples, as they failed at healing the boy - God doesn’t
seem to be able to do much through me
· The father, because I am caught between belief and unbelief.
· The boy, because Jesus has recently restored me to wholeness.
2. In the story of Jesus healing the boy, what does it mean when the
boy’s father says, “I do believe! Help my unbelief”? When have you felt
like this? How did you overcome your unbelief?
3. What kind of doubts hit you the hardest?
· Future concerns.
· Financial concerns.
· Faith issues.
· Self-image issues.
· Other
4. What do you believe about evil spirits? Is this something the church
needs to take seriously today, or should we leave this to the mental
health profession?
5. If you truly believed what Jesus said, “Everything is possible to the
one who believes” (v. 23), what would you do differently? How would it
change your life?
6. For what challenging situations in this coming week do you need
prayer?
