SESSION 5 MARK 5:21-43
WELCOME
Whose voice or touch do you recognize in an instant, even in a crowd?
WORSHIP
Sing or meditate on this song:
When I feel the touch, Of Your hand upon my life,
It causes me to sing a song, that I love You, Lord.
So from deep within, my spirit singeth unto Thee,
You are my King, You are my God, and I love You, Lord.
WORD
1. What is surprising about the person that approaches Jesus and asks
Him to heal his daughter? Could you make the same request that Jairus
made about one of your own children?
2. How would you describe the woman in the crowd in terms of her
physical condition, mind-set, and social status?
3. What motivated this woman to touch Jesus? Why was it important for
Jesus to know who touched him? Why was the woman healed and no one else
in the crowd?
4. What happens to the little girl who was sick? How does Jesus respond
to the news? How do the mourners react?
5. Why do you think Jesus shuts the crowd out when he goes in to heal
the girl?
6. What need are you facing in your own life for which you would like to
hear the words of Jesus “Don’t be afraid. Only believe.” How difficult
is it for you to take those words to heart in your own situation?
7. Where could you use a fresh touch from Jesus in your life today?
Pray.
WITNESS
Who are the people whose needs are being ‘lost in the crowd?’ Pray for
them and for us as Christians that we may become more sensitive to those
who are hurting.
