SESSION 11 MARK 10:13-34
WELCOME
You’ve just inherited £1 million. What would you do with it?
WORSHIP
Read Psalm 42 or choose a song(s) to sing.
WORD
1. Why did the disciples try to keep the children away from Jesus? What
childlike qualities was Jesus encouraging?
2. Why does the rich young ruler ask the question in verse 17? What do
you think might be missing from his life?
3. Why is it hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven (vv.
23—25)? What then is the rich person’s only hope (v. 21)?
4. What is Jesus teaching us in this passage?
· Wealth is evil.
· Commitment to him must be total.
· Giving is part of discipleship.
· Following Jesus means we have to sacrifice.
· Eternal life is more important than earthly life.
· We can only be saved by God’s doing, not our own.

5. If Jesus were to tell you one thing that held you back spiritually
right now, what do you think he would point to?
6. Name one material thing you need to let go of this week in order to
embrace God’s kingdom more fully. How can the group help you in that?
