Who prepared the way for the Lord in your life?

WORSHIP
Take time to thank God for the person who prepared the way for Jesus in your life. Praise God for His work in preparing you for your day of salvation.

WORD
1. Why is the ministry of John so popular?

2. What is significant about John the Baptist in the story of Jesus? How do you believe he fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy?

3. What purpose do you see in Jesus’ baptism and in his temptation? What significance do these events have in preparing Jesus for his public ministry?

4. What is significant about John’s statement, “I have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit”? What promise is he making for the future?

5. As Jesus came out of the water when he was baptized, what did the voice from heaven say? If you could have a voice from heaven speak to you about your present life situation, what would you like that voice to say to you today?

Share the name of a person whom you might introduce to Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare that person’s heart and give you the right words to say.
