Small Group Notes - "A LIFE WORTH LIVING" |
SESSION 6
Ephesians 6:10-18
WELCOME
Give everyone a pen and paper. In 60 or 90 seconds, people must write down as many words of 3 or more letters {no plurals or proper nouns} from the word "Ephesians". Compare answers. 1 point for every word you get that no one else has.
WORSHIP
Refresh yourselves with we looked at during a previous session {3:14-21} Lead in to worship from that.
WORD
We have come to the end of the letter: the great battle cry, a call to action. In his conclusion to the letter to the people of Ephesus, the Apostle Paul answers the question, "How now shall we live?"
- Review the book of Ephesians. What are the general themes? What has stuck out in your mind?
- What strikes you most about this passage?
- What does Paul mean when he says that the battle is not against "flesh and blood"? {V 12}
- What are some "rulers, powers, authorities, of this dark world" that you see in everyday life?
- Are there any negatives attached to the various pieces of the armour we are encouraged to use?
- If you had to compare your own spiritual armour to this list, where are you strong? Are there areas of weakness that could be prayed for?
- On the basis of what has come up in this session, pray for one another.
WITNESS
One way of summarizing the book of Ephesians is this: "God has provided all you need in Christ; therefore, live worthy of the gift!" What steps can you take to live worthy of this call?
