Small Group Notes - "A LIFE WORTH LIVING" |
SESSION 2
Ephesians 2:1-10
WELCOME & WORSHIP
You are 'God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works'.
Each person should write their name at the top of a sheet of paper and then pass it to the person to the left of them.
Write down 3 words that sum up something of the character & spiritual strengths of the person named on the sheet.
Then fold the sheet so as to cover the comments and pass it to the next person on your left.
Continue the exercise until the papers are all back with the named person.
Read and reflect on the way others view you as 'God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works'.
Thank God for His work in your midst.
WORD
- Do you think there is any significance to the fact that Paul refers to the people as "you" for the first few verses, then as "we" and "us" for the rest - except when he's talking about being saved by grace {V 5 and V 8}.
- What is the significance of being seated with Christ "in the heavenly realms" {V 6}? {Compare with 1.3, 20; 3.10; 6.12}
- When is it that you feel you most need to be reminded of this? What could you do to help remind yourself at these times?
- {V 8} How much do you see your faith as being a gift from God and how much is it our own decision to respond to him?
- Pray for one another asking for an awareness of opportunities this week to 'do good works' that God has prepared for us.
WITNESS
Use the latest Sunday notice sheet to pray through the prayer points on the back.
