St Mary's Church
St Mary's is a lively, growing, all-age-friendly church situated in Ashton on Mersey. Within the parish we have a daughter church, Sale West Community Church
which meets on the Sale West estate.
We have 3 services every Sunday and various midweek services.
Our mission is to be a growing church. One outworking of that mission is that we have a team of mentors who offer mentoring to church members, as a means of personal growth, development and accountability.
Small groups are big at St Mary's! Across the church we have over 25 that meet in homes to learn and help one another.
Children and young people
There's plenty on offer for children and young people. During our 9.30am service Junior church is available for children and Fuel Sundays runs for the youth. On a Friday evening we have 2 youth groups, Rock for young people in school years 7-8 and Under Construction for young people in school years 9-11. Caterpillars is a parent and todler group on Tuesday afternoons. We also run a pre-school playgroup, Butterflies, every morning in term time and have strong links with St Mary's Church of England primary school.
Part of the community
There's a lot going on for the not so young as well! Off Limits is a social group aimed at the over 50s. We have a very active Mothers' Union and rambling groups.
The Heartbeat cafe is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings, everyone is welcome.
We offer support to others in the local community through visiting and prayer.
Attached to St Mary's is the church centre, which is available to hire. Many community groups meet here including children's groups.
