Missions at St Marys and Sale West
Mission work is a part of our church life

Missions at St Marys and Sale West
At the end of 2009 a new Missions Group was formed. It's aim is to highlight and encourage mission within our congregations.

St Marys and Sale West financially and prayerfully support 8 mission groups: Armonia, Boaz Trust, Philippines Outreach Centre, Open Doors, Trafford Youth for Christ, Simon and Laura Walton ( Tanzania) , Tim and Miho Walker ( Japan) Sue and Simon Yeomans ( Europe).
Full details - see below with links to the latest news letters.

Church Intercessions each week includes a missions prayer item so we can pray for the current situations our missionary are facing. Specific prayer groups like Open Doors meet monthly - See church newsheet for details.

Prayer needs are often highlighted in the small group notes and monthly focus sheet. New information also appears regularly on the Mission Display Board beside the front door.

Other groups supported include Bible Society, Burundi Centre, Tom Skinner and the Robinsons Thai work UK, also short term workers from the church. These are prayed for from time to time in the church. Members are invited to send urgent mission prayer needs to Mary Robinson via the office. These can be included in the church intercessions where possible.

Fund Raising
The Missions group co-ordinates all fundraising events to ensure a balance through the year. Church members going on mission whether short or long term are invited to contact Sara Bundey by e-mail via the office . She will get together with you to advise about fund raising events.

Mission grants
There is a Mission Discretionary Fund to provide financial assistance for those hoping to go on mission. Church members are invited to apply via the office.

Looking ahead we hope to see mission interest deepen among all areas of our congregations, to see prayer for mission as a regular part of our church life. We would also like to see more young people ( and others ) called out to long and short term mission, that we can be more deeply involved in reaching a needy world for the Lord Jesus Christ.
