Sale West Community Church
is involved in a number of local activities
in conjunction with other agencies:-
Sale West Saturday Football Skillz
In conjunction with Sport Trafford and Trafford Community Leisure Trust, with the support of Trafford's Healthy Places, Healthy Lives initiative,
this started in June 2011 for 5 – 16 year olds, boys and girls on Manor Avenue Football Ground and is now continuing at Firs Primary School.
It has attracted 50 – 60 children and young people from Sale West and three adult residents are building on their previous experience as coaches
to take courses with the support of VCAT and TCLT.
Sale Credit Union
This was started by the church and community to help people in the Sale West Estates area manage their finances.
It has now expanded beyond the Sale West area and hundreds of people are members.
Church members are among the many volunteers who help to run the Credit Union where people come to bank and obtain loans.
Sale West Community Urban Trust
The object of setting up this charity is to relieve the needs of children, their families and carers in such ways as the trustees think fit.
This is with a view to developing their physical, mental, emotional, economical, spiritual and intellectual capabilities,
so they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved.
The Trust is fund-raising for two part-time posts – a children and families community worker and a children and families church worker. We are pleased that we have recently been awarded a grant of £3000 over 3 years by the Church and Community Fund towards these posts.
