StMM/SWCC is part of the wider
Anglican Church. Every inch of
the UK is part of the Church of England parish system. Each parish has
at least one CofE Church to serve its spiritual and practical needs.
The parish of St.Mary Magdalene, Ashton on
Mersey has two Anglican Churches - StMM and SWCC.
Our group of parishes are grouped into a
Deanery. Bowdon Deanery starts at the Mersey and Partington and reaches
down to Dunham, Hale and Hale Barns.
The Deaneries are linked to the Archdeanery
of Macclesfield and on to Chester Diocese. Chester Cathedral serves the
Diocese. Our Diocese is part of the northern province of York, where the
Church of England has a northern and southern province. There are
Bishops and Archbishops who lead the church.
The Church of England is part of the
worldwide Anglican Church.
The Anglican church in Africa , Asia and South America is growing
rapidly. The Worldwide Anglican
Church is part of Christ's Church on Earth - for anyone who loves Jesus
and has become a disciple is part of His Church.
